With the projects I have been involved in, it hasn’t been about exploring wearable solutions simply to check off a feature request. We carefully look for opportunities where a specific technology would in-fact lend to a better experience.

 

VRU Active Safety

The concept designs below are examples taken from work on a vulnerable road user active safety application. This application provides alerts and insight to potential vulnerable road users regarding possible roadside dangers. We have been testing multi-sensory concepts to further enhance situational awareness during roadside events.

Distracted Driving

For another project we have been focused on identifying broader opportunities to improve driver safety. Below are some examples of different designs to help combat distracted driving. Again leveraging multiple sensors, both worn and within the vehicle itself, we are able to identify potential dangerous conditions and are exploring ways in which we can safely alert the driver.
